The younger son of a region that bases its reputation on the production of great red wines, Dolcetto d'Alba DOC is always a great glass of wine for all occasions. Just like this Maicarin, proposed by Pier Paolo Grasso. A wine that, in its linearity, offers an authentic and engaging experience to all lovers of good wine. Located in the heart of the Langhe, the municipality of Treiso (CN) is situated at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level. This area is renowned for its medium-textured hilly terrain with clayey areas, ideal for growing vines. The Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are famous for their breathtaking landscapes and the production of high quality wines. Dolcetto, in particular, is a native black grape variety, appreciated for its ability to produce fresh and fruity wines. Although the name might suggest a certain sweetness, Dolcetto is actually a dry wine, characterised by delicate tannins and a low acidity. After harvesting, the grapes undergo red wine vinification, followed by a simple refinement in steel tanks. To the eye, 'Maicarin' has a bright purple-red colour. On the nose, pleasant floral hints of violet and wisteria emerge, followed by fruity notes of plum and black cherry. Spicy nuances are also perceptible, particularly black pepper and nutmeg. In the mouth it is full and savoury, with well-smoothed tannins and a finish that recalls red fruits and wisteria. This Dolcetto goes well with roast veal and grilled meats.
