Pignoletto is one of the most popular white wines of Emilia Romagna. Present in these lands since ancient times, it is even mentioned by Pliny the Elder in one of his texts dating back to the first century AD. Its appearance in the Bolognese area, however, is only documented with certainty from the mid-16th century. Traditionally, Pignoletto was grown clinging to a maple or elm tree. The soul of this wine reflects the lifestyle of the people of Emilia and Romagna, and their passion for good living and conviviality. Curena, Pignoletto Frizzante IGT proposed here by cantina Trerè, is certainly no exception. This is a wine of great drinkability that is the result of careful vinification at low temperature and a fast fermentation in an autoclave. The result is a pleasantly fresh and fragrant wine, with a pale straw yellow colour and delicate greenish highlights. On the nose, white almond and wisteria, for a wine that plays much of its pleasantness on the fineness of its aromas. It is the wine born to make aperitif time more pleasant. Best served chilled, with a rich platter of cured meats and a sliver of good cheese. ...
