The indication is clear and leaves no room for doubt. This wine comes from Vigna San Sebastiano, a plot located in the hamlet of the same name in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. We are just a few kilometres from Dogliani, in the heart of the Langa and the headquarters of the Chionetti family. Barbera d'Alba DOC, this red wine is produced with pure Barbera grapes, harvested at the end of September and vinified in steel tanks. Then, after racking, the wine is passed into large, un-toasted oak barrels where it matures slowly until it reaches the right complexity. This Barbera is not filtered before bottling. Intense ruby red in colour, the nose expresses itself with hints of cherry and plum to which an intriguing spicy note is added. In the mouth it is ample, with a decisive acidity, typical for the vine, well balanced by the fruit and structure.
