Originating in Germany, Riesling is a very versatile grape variety that lends itself to being vinified in various styles. Jermann's Afix is made from pure Riesling Renano grapes from vineyards in the Collio region. Dedicated to Alojz Felix, the young and eclectic son of Silvio Jermann, it is made by hand harvesting and traditional vinification. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine then matures for 10 months on the lees in steel tanks and a few months in the bottle. For bottling, the winery has decided to go for closed bottles with Stelvin model screw caps, to keep the fragrance and organoleptic qualities of the wine intact. In the glass, it has a beautiful bright straw yellow colour with light greenish reflections. The nose is surprising for its intense and persistent perfume, slightly aromatic and characteristic of the vine, with unmistakable notes of ripe fruit. In the mouth, however, it has a dry, fresh flavour with great balance. Velvety texture and lively backbone. A wine of great versatility, it is good today but not afraid to spend some time in the cellar. If stored well, it will quietly evolve for a few years. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with vegetable creams, shellfish, baked fish. ...
