Spassoso is an interesting red wine made from a blend of partially dried red grapes. An intriguing and fruity wine offered here by Tenuta Gorghi Tondi. The beautiful, colourful label evokes a multifaceted, typically Sicilian exuberance. A collage of images combining art, nature, tradition, music, passion and conviviality. Spassoso is a 'complex' wine from a production point of view, but easy and accessible for neophytes and enthusiasts. Terre Siciliane IGP, the grapes come from south-western Sicily. Local and international black grapes, with Nero d'Avola, Syrah and Perricone in different percentages depending on the vintage. The vines, which are about 16 years old, are located in a hilly area, well exposed to ventilation and characterised by good temperature excursions between day and night. Harvesting takes place in the third decade of September. The 15-20% of the harvested grapes (the Perricone portion) are left to dry for about ten days in the fruttaio, and then vinified separately. The must ferments in steel at a controlled temperature, with maceration lasting 10 days. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation begins and the wine thus obtained matures in steel, in contact with its fine lees, for about 5 months before meeting the bottle. Brilliant ruby colour with purple hues, the nose recalls morello cherries, black mulberries and plums. In the mouth, however, it is intense, slightly spicy, pleasantly persistent. With a good tannic texture. It goes well with cold cuts and cheese boards, grilled red meats. ...
