Bachmann is a pure Pinot Noir. It is a Reserve wine, Alto Adige DOC, made by Cantina Bolzano. This is an exceptional product that fears no comparison with the great Pinot Noirs of Burgundy (purists beware) for the pleasantness of its aromas and the perfect balance in all its components. Made from grapes harvested on steep vineyards around Bolzano, between 600 and 700 metres above sea level, it is harvested in September. After vinification, which is superbly accurate, as is the style of the winery, the wine is matured in French barriques for a period of about six months, after which it is bottled to complete its refinement. Intense ruby red in colour, the nose reveals the classic bouquet reminiscent of small berries, cherries and plums. A slight spiciness reminiscent of cinnamon and cloves complements the light notes of vanilla and tobacco. On the palate it is full, firm, with elegant velvety tannins and a pleasant acidity that makes it extremely drinkable. It goes well with beef or game dishes.
