It's called Basciì and, technically, it's a red wine of Italy. It is one of those products that, even though it does not have a specific denomination, tells the story of its territory of origin better than many others. Basciì is produced from a blend of different indigenous Salento grapes, including of course Primitivo and Negramaro. All grapes come from ancient local vineyards, still bred to sapling, where every process requires skill and hard work. The grapes are harvested slightly overripe, that is, after they have reached the perfect state of ripeness but before they wither and dehydrate excessively. This guarantees a great concentration of sugars in the must from which a rich and structured wine will be produced, pleasantly warm and deeply Apulian. Ageing in barrique for a period of about 12 months guarantees elegance and complexity on the nose and in the mouth. ...
