Don't be misled by the name. This Prosecco DOC Treviso is called 'Rustico' but there is nothing crude or unpleasant about it. Quite the contrary. In fact, it is one of the best-loved products of Nino Franco's cellar, one of his pleasant and fresh bubbles. The kind, in other words, that one uncorks with pleasure every time there is a suitable occasion. And if there is no occasion, it doesn't matter... you uncork it anyway! 100% Glera, harvested when perfectly ripe in the company's mid- and high-hill vineyards. We are within the classic production zone, where the vines climb uninterrupted hillsides and the climate is gently cool. The base wines are vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, while the second fermentation takes place in autoclaves according to the Charmat method. Then, after bottling, the wine is left to rest in the cellar for about 30 days. Low dosage, Brut, this Rustico is a very versatile sparkling wine. Brilliant straw yellow. The nose reveals typical aromas of fruit and flowers, including Williams pear and white flowers. In the mouth it is soft and delicate. Excellent as an aperitif, it is perfect with finger food and the classic cicchetti veneti.
