Journey through the beautiful hills of the Marche region. Here, in the small municipality of Morro d'Alba, one of the region's most characteristic wines is born: Lacrima di Morro d'Alba DOC. Amidst gentle slopes facing south and south-east, at an altitude between 150 and 210 metres above sea level, the vineyards enjoy an ideal microclimate for growing vines. The sea breezes blowing in from the Adriatic, combined with the soil rich in minerals, give the Lacrima grapes unique characteristics. And it is here that Cantine Belisario cultivates the grapes destined for this wine. Lacrima is appreciated for its ability to produce intensely aromatic wines of great freshness. This is due to the small berries, characterised by a dark colour when they reach perfect ripeness. In the winery, after soft pressing, 80% of the grapes undergo traditional maceration, while the remaining 20% undergo carbonic maceration, a technique that enhances the wine's fruity and floral aromas. Maturation takes place in steel tanks for about six months, thus preserving the freshness and vivacity of the product. To the eye, it has a beautiful, bright red-purple colour, enriched with violet reflections. The bouquet is inviting and complex, dominated by notes of wild strawberries, blackberries and blueberries, with hints of roses and delicate nuances of underbrush. On the palate, it offers a lively freshness and distinctive minerality, with soft, well-integrated tannins that provide a pleasant structure. The finish is long and savoury. Ideal with hors d'oeuvres of cold meats and fresh cheeses, first courses with light sauces, white meats and stewed fish dishes. Also perfect with traditional Marche dishes such as olives all'ascolana or crescia sfogliata. ...
