On the label, as beautiful as all those proposed by the Sicilian company Donnafugata, Etna, the volcano, is represented by a beautiful woman with red hair the colour of lava. A perfect evocative image to represent this Dea Vulcano, a fragrant red wine of great pleasure. It is made from Nerello Mascalese grapes to which a small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio is added. After vinification, the wine is aged for 14 months in cement vats and partially in second and third passage French oak barriques. Light ruby red in colour, Dea Vulcano offers a refined bouquet with notes of red fruit, such as wild strawberries, and floral hints of violets. Delicate tertiary scents are then added, including black pepper and sweet tobacco. The palate is fresh and fragrant. Soft with well-integrated tannins and a balanced, juicy finish. Excellent with hors d'oeuvres of cured meats and semi-mature cheeses. ...
