The name could be misleading. One might, in fact, think of a Sicilian wine from the beautiful island that belongs to the Aeolian archipelago. And in this case, one might think of a pleasantly aromatic wine made from Malvasia grapes. In reality, this Salina is an Apulian white, made from pure Chardonnay grapes and proposed by the fine Podere 29 winery. It is a very fresh white wine with a distinct sapidity (hence the name) and an unmistakable elegance. Vinified exclusively in steel, this Salina presents itself in the glass with a beautiful intense and lively straw yellow colour, with persistent aromas reminiscent of fresh fruit and sweet white flowers. In the mouth, however, it stands out for its great freshness and minerality. The pleasantly long finish is delicately savoury and fruity. With baked fish or a mixed grill, it would be difficult to find a more appropriate wine. ...
