Clinio, IGT Toscana, is an international red wine proposed by Tenuta Fratini. We are talking about a fine Bolgheri reality that can count on large vineyard plots in particularly suitable areas. Specifically, the vineyards from which the Cabernet Franc grapes (mostly) used to produce this Clinio come are located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, a hamlet of Donoratico, in the province of Livorno. Here the soil is composed of sedimentary rocks, ideal for the ripening of the Bordeaux red grape variety. It should also be emphasised that the care taken at every stage of the production process is remarkable. Starting with the careful selection of the best bunches in the vineyard, hand-picked only when they have reached perfect ripeness. Once in the cellar, then, the grapes undergo further selection and only then are the 'perfect' grapes sent to the fermentation phase in temperature-controlled stainless steel conical tanks. Fermentation, it should be emphasised, takes place thanks to the action of spontaneous yeasts. At the end of vinification, the wine passes into barriques, of second and third passage, for a slow maturation of no less than 12 months. In the glass, it has a beautiful red-purple colour with violet reflections. The nose reveals great complexity, with typical sweet Mediterranean notes and fruity sensations that blend, in perfect balance, with aromatic freshness. A wine of great pleasantness, it then reveals a harmonious tannic texture in the mouth. Refined and persistent, it is a wine that is already good today but which will certainly benefit from a period of rest in the cellar.
